Frequently Asked Questions

  • The initial consultation will be virtual or by phone. The purpose of the initial consultation is to have a brief “meet and greet” that allows us to be formally introduced and to review my approaches and your reasons for seeking services. If you decide to pursue services, I will provide instructions for establishing an account and scheduling your future sessions. We then get to work!

  • To book your initial consultation or any other appointment for therapy services, click the “Therapy Portal” button at the top right of the homepage. It will take you to the scheduling page for new and existing clients.

Please note that when scheduling an initial therapy consultation, you will asked to provide payment information. This information will be stored for future payments should you decide to begin therapy. You will NOT be charged for the initial consultation.

To schedule a consultatoin to discuss clinical supervision, career coaching, or notary services, click the “Request Service” button at the top of the page, select your preferred service, and complete the request form.

  • Yes. In addition to in-person appointments, telehealth for therapy and career development services can be conducted using virtual technology. The virtual platforms typically used include Zoom and Google Meet.

    • All telehealth services comply with the standards of confidentiality, as outlined in the federal HIPAA law and the laws of Washington State RCW 70.02 and RCW 18.225.105.

    • Even with privacy and security protections, there is a risk of viruses or other malware infecting a website or app used for telehealth. Patients should obtain anti-malware software on their devices to guard against viruses or other malicious software.

    • If the patient is not in a private location during the telehealth appointment, then other people may hear or see sensitive health information about the patient. Patients can decrease the risk of accidental disclosures when others are present by positioning their devices in areas where others cannot see their screen or hear their sessions.

    • Review HHS Security and Privacy Tips for Patients.

  • Although I am licensed to practice in multiple states, EW LifeWorks operates exclusively in Washington State. During treatment, if a client continues services while traveling out of state, I will work to uphold the laws of that state in the provision of services.

  • At this time, EW LifeWorks is out of network with area health insurance companies. Clients pay the full fee for services provided by EW LifeWorks.

Clients receiving therapy services can be given detailed invoices (aka “super bills”) to submit to their health insurance provider to be reimbursed for out-of-network services.

  • In Washington State, therapy and career development services are in high demand. EW LifeWorks aims to serve as many people as possible. As a courtesy to our patients and providers, please kindly provide prior notice of cancellation no later than 48 hours before your scheduled appointment to avoid being charged 50% of the standard fee for service.

If there are two or more consecutive late cancellations or no shows, EW LifeWorks reserves the right to discontinue services without liability.
